Marquinhos is the 100th scorer of APOEL in Europe!

The goal scored yesterday in GSP by APOEL striker Marquinhos (74') against Djurgården Sweden, did not ultimately play a decisive role in qualifying for the group stage of the UEFA Conference League, but has already gone down in history.

The Brazilian left winger, whose full name is Marquinhos Vinicius Souza Nattividade, became the 100th APOEL player to score in a European competition match.

Takis Chailis is the one who scored APOEL's first goal in the European Cups, when on September 8, 1963, he scored in the 15th minute, in the 6-0 victory against the Norwegian Gevik Lin in the old GSP.

That game was APOEL's first in the European Cups. Almost 59 years later, in the 228th match of APOEL in Europe, Marquinhos wrote his own name in history, scoring against another Scandinavian team, Djurgarden.

Before the game against the Swedes, the "European" scorers of APOEL were 97. Anton Maglica in the 7th minute became the 98th, followed by Danny Bloom (23') and in the 74th minute came Marquinhos' goal. This was APOEL's 264th goal in the European Cups. Unfortunately, however, it was not combined with the ticket of qualification to the group stage of the UEFA Conference League.
