Matches and fatigue for the Europeans

With two matches, the curtain falls on the 8th matchday in the Cypriot championship. Omonia hosts Paphos and AEK hosts APOEL.

OMONIA-PAPHOS (19:00)



A derby between two teams aiming for the title will be held at the GSP. Omonia will host Paphos, with both teams optimistic to successfully overcome the high obstacle they have in front of them. Both carry the fatigue from their away games in the Champions League and the Conferences League respectively.

Paphos is two points more than Omonia and therefore the game acquires great scoring interest. In the event that the greens win, then they will overtake the champion, while otherwise Paphos will open the difference to five points very early.

Carlos Carcedo's team comes from the goalless draw in Kazakhstan. Despite the fact that they were playing from the 4th minute with one less player due to the expulsion of Correia, Paphos not only endured, but missed blatant opportunities to get the double.

In AEK, a lot of people are waiting in the "Arena". The huge win in England caused an explosion of enthusiasm and optimism in the ranks of the team who are also waiting for a big victory in the league.

On the other hand, APOEL, after four wins without conceding a goal, drew 2-2 with Olympiacos. Although they found themselves losing 2-0, they managed to equalize towards the end of the match and save the point. The goal for the Nicosia team is to return to good performances and successes in order to stay at the top of the standings and leave its opponent at -5.
