AEK-APOLLON (17:00)
AEK crushed PAEK and secured a ticket to the quarter-finals of the cup, where Apollon is also in the same position. The two teams are charting diametrically opposite paths in the league, with the yellow and green teams in 3rd place and hoping for qualification and the cyan and white teams unable to find any rhythm and even threatening to make it into the top six.
Another defeat to Nea Salamina was the swan song for Adrian Gula. The Slovakian left without leaving any legacy and Apollon are looking for the next coach to get them back on track. Today the cyan and whites will go to Larnaca with a caretaker coach, but the goal remains the same.
The hosts have an advantage due to their home ground and playing situation and they are optimistic to use it and continue their counterattack.
MANCHESTER CITY-MANCHESTER UNITED (18:30)
Manchester in two. The city's two big teams will go head to head. City will host United, with the playing conditions not favouring either of them.
Manchester City have so far been the unpleasant surprise of the league. Despite the fact that they are in 4th place and -8 from Liverpool, however, they are not convincing. They are not the champions we have seen in previous seasons. Something is missing and that has been exploited by many opponents so far.
Manchester United are in even worse shape. The arrival of Amorim has brought optimism, but for the future, as it was only natural that he would not be able to make the changes he wanted immediately.
With the state of the two gladiators the game is expected to be of immense interest. The top spot is held by the higher quality City.
BORUSSIA - HOFFENHEIM (18:30)
One of the same Dortmund who now count more gaffes than wins. After the draw with Bayern Munich, they dropped points against Gladbach and dropped to 6th place in the table with 21 points, compared to 13 for their current opponents, Hoffenheim.
The visitors' last win was over Leipzig in that crazy 4-3 win on November 23. Since then they have drawn and lost, one of which was in the cup which brought elimination.
In the last game between the two sides, Hoffenheim won 3-2 to end Dortmund's five-match winning streak.
BARCELONA-LEGANES (22:00)
Barcelona are favourites for the 18th round. The Catalan team will host Leganes in the last game of the round.
The hosts, in their last game, were held to a 4th minute injury time draw by Betis and saw the gap to Real Madrid narrowed to two points.
The negative result came on top of the inconsistency that Barcelona have shown since the last ten days of November. Today they are presented with a golden opportunity to return to winning results and they must take advantage of it.
Leganes, on the other hand, are at the bottom of the standings and will need to overreach themselves in order to gain a point in Catalonia.
PSG-LYON (22:00)
This used to be the big derby in France. Now the Paris Saint-Germain-Lyon match-ups are up to the appetites of the Parisians. The difference at all levels is chaotic and is reflected in the league table in recent years.
Paris are the heavy favourites to win the title again this year. They have a cushion of safety and are making a play. The distances have narrowed after two consecutive draws with Nantes and Auxerre, but they are not threatening the top.
Against Lyon, the hosts are the favourites to win the title and they are called upon to confirm their title in order to at least keep their distance from their pursuers. Lyon attempts a counter takedown, but it's a takedown on the ceiling. Clearly, they cannot challenge for the title. Wins over Nice and Angers have lifted them to 5th place and -9 from their current rivals.
Remarkably, Lyon's last defeat in the league was at the hands of Marseille on September 22.
