ETHNIKOS ACHNAS-YPSONAS (17:00)
A very interesting game between two well-worked teams that do not show so far that they will get involved in adventures. For Ethnikos Achnas it is a match with peculiarities, as a few days ago the coach of the team Hugo Martins left (he continues in AEL) and the refugee team hired Igor Angelovski in his place. The two teams are coming off defeats against Aris and AEK respectively.
We are talking about a super derby between two excellent teams that show that they will claim the title. The hosts are coming off two consecutive victories in the league, beating Aris Limassol and Ypsonas. Paphos, on the other hand, counts four wins and only one defeat from Apollon so far. The champions start again this year as favorites for the title, but it will not be easy, since they also compete in the League Phase of the Champions League. In midweek, both teams had European obligations and of course fatigue may play its part.
Another big derby which completes the 6th matchday of the Cypriot championship, which is developing again this year with a lot of interest. Omonia at the moment is the most in-form team in the league and no one can doubt it. He comes from four consecutive victories, without even conceding a goal. In the last two games, he tipped AEL and Anorthosis with five goals. All this is not accidental. Aris looks strong again this year, but tonight they are giving difficult exams. The positive thing for the visitors is that Omonia also had a match on Thursday night (against Alkmaar) and they will try to take advantage of any fatigue of the hosts. Aris, after its first defeat by AEK, returned to positive results, beating Ethnikos Achnas 3-0.
A return to winning ways is the only goal for PAOK in the derby against Olympiacos, with the aim of gaining calm and especially its fans again. It is true that Razvan Lucescu's team is not at its best. In the institution of the championship, it comes from two consecutive draws with Panetolikos and Asteras Tripolis. In fact, against Asteras he turned the match from 1-0 to 1-3 and in the end the hosts managed to equalize at 3-3. Olympiacos is showing character so far, not even to be honest, but the important thing is that they are winning, as they did against Levadiakos (3-2 in stoppage time). The two teams also had European tests in the middle of the week and maybe fatigue will play its role at the "Toumba".
The night ends with a match in the Campeonato between two excellent teams that will fight to win the title. Our hosts have been spoiling it lately with the two draws against Verona and Atalanta, but Italian football is difficult and points are constantly being lost. Milan surprises us positively, that after the defeat of the premiere by Cremonese, they continue with victories, playing good football. In the previous match, they prevailed at home to Napoli (2-1) and climbed to the top. As we wrote in the previous derbies, so in this one... we emphasize that Juventus also had a midweek match, unlike Milan who do not play in Europe and this is in their favor in the league.
