Will APOEL return unscathed from Bratislava?
APOEL overcame the obstacle of Petrocub and now they have to do the same against Slovan Bratislava for the third qualifying round of the Champions League.
APOEL are in the Slovakian capital to do what they did 13 years ago. The blue and yellow will face Slovan and will be hopeful of getting the result that will allow them to hope for a replay in a week's time in Nicosia.
After locking up their presence in the Conferences League, the Blue-Yellows travelled to Bratislava without the pressure, which will probably work positively for David Gayego's players.
APOEL will have to be better than their performances against Petrocub, as they will be facing an experienced and quality opponent, who eliminated Slovenian champions Celje in the previous round with an aggregate score of 6-1 (5-0, 1-1). Efficiency and concentration are essential ingredients for the first step.
The Spanish coach does not count on the services of Sharpho, whose place is claimed by Meyer.
As far as the betting odds are concerned, Slovan are the favourites in today's game
